Australian Idol fans raise the roof at Tuggerah

THE roof was raised with the screams of teenage fans at Tuggerah this week.

Last year’s Australian Idol winner Stan Walker performed at Westfield Shopping Centre in front of a large crowd of fans.

Walker is best known for his hit songs Black Box which went double platinum and Unbroken which went gold.

He spent Tuesday performing two songs live and signing autographs for a long line of mainly female fans.

He also met fans who won a competition to meet him backstage before he performed.

Walker is on the publicity trail for his newest album From the Inside Out, which hit stores last week.

He described his second album as more true to his style and includes two duets with UK singer Pixie Lott and New Zealand rapper Young Sid.

Walker, 19, is an Australian-born New Zealand singer known for his heartfelt pop, R and B and soul performances.

After the show he was signed by Sony Music Australia.

His debut single, Black Box was launched in November 2009 and peaked at number two on the ARIA singles chart.

Recently he has been on a number of TV shows, was nominated for the Australian Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and will head over to New Zealand for some shows.
