Young and Bold festival part of Penrith Youth Week

    31 Mar 11 @ 09:00am by Staff Writer

A PENRITH Christian youth ministry will host a youth-empowering festival next Wednesday as part of National Youth Week.

ImagineNations Youth has organised the Young and Bold festival for the first time.

Youth pastor Belinda Varlow said the aim of the event was to assist young people.

“It’s to encourage them and show they have the potential and that they’re valuable,” she said.

“It’s encouraging youth to be bold and pursue their dreams.”

Young and Bold will feature seminars in six high schools with Australian Idol winner Stan Walker, who will perform a concert at 7pm.

From 3.30pm the festival will comprise sports clinics, carnival rides, a battle of the bands, dance crew competition, computer gaming and a vintage clothing market.

Mrs Varlow said it was a “big event” and the church was supporting it financially and with 100 volunteers.

“We’re investing in the youth in Penrith,” she said.

Tickets to Young and Bold cost $40 and include all activities available on the day. For more details or to buy tickets go to youngandbold.com.au or visit the church.

ImagineNations Youth is located at the corner of The Northern and Frogmore Rds, Penrith.
